When they go low, we monetise our pain. I said it a friend back in November: when they go low, we invest in ourselves and get paid to write about the things they hate about us. I meant it as a joke, but for all else 2020 has been it’s been the year when I stepped into my trans identity and I’m really fucking proud of that. There is a lot I don’t know about sex. It feels weird to admit that, to admit that I’m a sex writer who has massive gaps in my knowledge. When I started sex blogging, I’m not sure if I felt a pressure to pretend like I knew everything or if I knew so little that I thought I did know everything. I’m not sure which of those is worse. I’ve learned a lot in the last few years, and I’ve learned that there’s a lot that I don’t know. I’m an unapologetic sex nerd and sex blogger… but I want to be a sex educator too.Read More →

For the second week in a row, today’s blog content is inspired by Hannah Witton – specifically this video of hers about mid year goal setting. For those of you here for the filth, I feel like I should apologise that instead y’all are getting a very meta post about sex blogging – but then again, along with my mid-year sex blogging goals I want to share with you my word for the rest of 2020, which is unapologetic. I said this earlier on Twitter, but I’m going to repeat it here: I do not have to be nice right now. I’ve tried being nice. Being nice right now makes me complicit in my own dehumanisation. I do not have to be nice to people who misgender me. Even knowing that, it is hard to give myself permission to be angry right now. As I write this it’s only eight days until I’ll be in London, trying not to throw up from excitement and nerves. Why? Because Eroticon 2020 is next weekend and this time next Friday I’ll be asking my enboifriend to help me lace myself into a borrowed corset before we head to the Meet and Greet together. But, as always, Eroticon starts with a virtual meet and greet, to help remind us that the conference is closer than any of us realise. Today is my second blogiversary! I’ve been sex blogging for two years now, and today I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has supported on my journey so far. The last two years have been amazing, and while I never thought I would become a sex writer I absolutely love it. Quinn RhodesQuinn Rhodes (he/him) is a queer, trans, disabled sex blogger.
